January Daily Dip 2022

Since January 1st 2022, more than 40 brave swimmers, from all over the UK, have been plunging into freezing cold water every single day – in a bid to raise funds and awareness for Crisis UK – the UK’s leading homelessness charity.

These swimmers have dipped in all sorts of cold water – streams, reservoirs, waterfalls, rivers – even wheelie bins for dippers in Covid isolation! The only rule is no wetsuits, just red swimming cossies and big smiles!

Five years ago January Daily Dip began with just two friends and the idea of dipping every day in January to raise money for Crisis. After a couple of years swimming in the depths of winter they realised they needed a robust bag to change in - that's how the Turtleback bag and Swim Feral came about. The January Daily Dip movement gets bigger every year and together the team have raised over £100K for homelessness and displaced people.

This year, the team have already hit their original target of £20,000 but have raised it to £30,000. In a bid to help them reach the new target an anonymous (and very generous) donor has offered to fund match any payments made before the end of the month (up to £4k). Amazing!

Anyone who was waiting for the end of the month to donate, now is the time!

Thank you to everyone who has already donated.
